G7 Certified Master Printer

Achieving consistency through daily implementation of best practices

As part of our commitment to repeatable and reliable award winning quality for our clients, Vista Graphic Communications has earned the certification of G7 Master Printer status from the International Digital Enterprise Alliance (IDEAlliance). G7 is an innovative calibration process that controls and ensures a visual match between proofs and the finished print product. This new quality control process enables us to produce more predictable and consistent color with less preparation and significantly reduced waste.

G7®: Improving Color Stability

The G7® proof -to-print process benefits everyone in the print community. The process ensures improved grey balance, color stability and color appearance matching across multiple printing sites that carry G7 certification. Our customers can feel confident that the visual appearance of our proofs will be confirmed by the printed product, whether it is printed digitally or conventionally.

Not without limitations, the G7 paper specification plays a major role in accurate color reproduction. Paper or board stock not within the ISO specification can lead to proof-to-print color variations. The more color the paper shows, typically leaning towards either blue or yellow, the more the printed color shifts away from the desired color shown on the GRACoL proof.

GRACoL proofs are produced on ISO compliant neutral sheets, and the color represented is often considered an absolute target. In commercial markets, however, paper grades have brightened dramatically in the past few years. For packaging applications, customers may supply (or request) a GRACoL C1 proof, which is based on a more neutral paper, yet packaging grade SBS often tends to be more yellow.
